About The Campaign

Beloved Economies expands our imagination of what’s possible for the U.S. economy.

Beloved Economies translates six years of research into a time-bound narrative change campaign that shares stories, practices, and resources for teams and groups that challenge the norms of the extractive economy. By providing compelling alternatives for how we work, Beloved Economies illustrates that different ways of working are not only possible but already happening.

The Beloved Economies campaign focuses on transforming narratives surrounding the workplace because we have found that when we change how we work in teams and groups, we change the economy at large. Together, these individual and collective shifts can bring us closer to economies that sustain long term community healing, resilience, and wellbeing.

Through inspiring, real-world stories  of “what could be”, and practical tools for taking action, Beloved Economies encourages people to shift practices in their own lives.

The Light Ahead Podcast

Stories and opportunities for many voices to be in community together, imagining and sharing what beloved economies could look like in the spaces we represent. Each episode is a scripted piece of short fiction set in 2030 and informed by the visions of activists and justice advocates.

We envision a world where each individual, team, business, and community in the United States reclaims and activates their power to transform work in ways that create beloved economies. In this world, our ways of work are manifestations of the economies in which we want to live -- economies of shared ownership and decision-making that prioritize long term community healing, resilience, and wellbeing.
