Dr. Ashby Monk has been a contributor to the research process since 2015, initially through serving as the academic adviser for the research that Jess Rimington and Joanna Cea led as visiting scholars at Stanford University's Global Project Center. Ashby has continued to support since then through participating in numerous interviews, a virtual dialogue, and reviewing draft content for the book manuscript Beloved Economies.

Dr. Ashby Monk is the Executive and Research Director of the Stanford Global Projects Center. He has a strong track record of academic and industry publications. He was named by CIO Magazine as one of the most influential academics in the institutional investing world. His research and writing has been featured in The Economist, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Institutional Investor, Reuters, Forbes, and on National Public Radio among a variety of other media. His current research focus is on the design and governance of institutional investors, with particular specialization on pension and sovereign wealth funds. Outside of Stanford, he is the co-founder and Chairman of Long Game Savings. He received his Doctorate in Economic Geography at Oxford University and holds a Master's in International Economics from the Universite de Paris I - Pantheon Sorbonne and a Bachelor's in Economics from Princeton University.

Jaclyn Gilstrap

Jaclyn Gilstrap (she/her/hers) is an activist whose work has focused on supporting women and young people to get the resources they need. She is committed to things like sexual and reproductive rights, racial justice, youth leadership, and ethical global engagement. Jaclyn dabbles in visual art, loves a good queer dance party, and believes in the power of community-led protests. Her strengths are event planning, organizational development, and youth mentorship.
